We only utilize new American white oak. This allows for thicker staves compared to other small format barrels on the market that are made with used barrel staves which produce thinner staves. Our new oak thick stave barrels prevent leaks, deter drying out and age better tasting product.
The small barrels are also outfitted with a metal spigot instead of using wooden spigots. Metal spigots are less prone to bacterial infection and leaks while having superior longevity.
Designed with a high surface-area-to-volume ratio, small-format barrels enhances flavour quickly.
